Demo Site

We are fairly tolerant at the "demo", but there are a few ground rules that we'd like to make you aware of just so that you know where you stand. Here are a few things we feel are important:

1. ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO SPAMMING ON OUR BOARDS! THAT EARNS YOU A FREE BAN! If you want to advertise your rubbish then go somewhere else.  We check the activity on this site regularly and we have procedures in place to detect and eliminate these nuisances.
2. WE HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CYBER STALKERS. Members will be instantly banned if reported for menacing other members. We have an open-door policy here - we do not screen membership applications -and we would like to keep it that way; we ask you to respect other members' right to privacy.
3. THIS IS A GROUP FOR ADULTS - NOT AN "ADULT" GROUP . Some of this group's discussions are not suitable for all ages. For this reason we do not allow people who are under 18 to become members.
4. WE DO NOT ALLOW EXPLICIT CONTENT (read 'porn') OR ANYTHING THAT PROMOTES HATRED, RACIAL, RELIGIOUS OR SEXIST VILIFICATION. This group is rated 'mature' but that doesn't mean you can use offensive language. We don't mind the occasional four-letter word said in jest, but it might be preferable to 'bleep' it out. We're happy to see good-natured jibes about [US] Americans, British, Irish, New Zealanders and Australians; jokes about the strange behaviour of women are OK as long as you give equal billing to jokes about men too. If you keep things tongue-in-cheek there shouldn't be a problem but remember that some people are fragile and might easily take offence to crass, humourless, throw-away lines - we ask you to respect others' feelings.
5. WE RESPECT PEOPLE'S PRIVACY. The managers may remove messages posted in the various discussion forums if they contain the e-mail addresses of private individuals irrespective of whose address they might be. However, if the managers consider that publishing such information serves a broader, public interest then this is a different matter entirely.
6. DO NOT DIRECT-LINK IMAGES FROM THIS SITE! THAT IS A SERIOUS CRIME CALLED BANDWIDTH THEFT! Many of the images used here are were snagged in the course of trawling through the thousands of e-mails that we have received over the years. We have no idea whether those images are protected by copyright or not - if possible we will try to correctly attribute the source of that material. A lot of the images were created by us. While we don't mind you borrowing anything you like here, PLEASE UPLOAD OUR IMAGES TO YOUR OWN WEB SPACE FIRST!
7. WE MAY PERIODICALLY REMOVE OLD MATERIAL WITHOUT NOTICE. From time to time the site managers may exercise some "editorial licence" and delete old material that is no longer topical or relevant or contributes (in some "signficant" way) to the history of the site; as a general rule, we will only select from material that is older than one month.
8. WE RESPECT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY. Forum moderators may delete messages without notice but usually if there's a perceived breach of this policy. Moderators may also move messages that could be better categorised elsewhere. However, we do not believe that forum moderators should change what someone has written; forum moderators who violate this principle will have their privileges withdrawn.
9. SOME OF OUR MATERIAL IS EXCLUSIVE. Some of the material at this site is designated member-only content. Whilst we love to have visitors browse through our site, this means that only registered users of site can view or download certain images or files.
